The weather forecast said it will be very hot at about 34c. some decided to give it a miss but I thought we go away to hot countries and don't complain. It was 50c in Egypt when Sue and I went on holiday in 2007 but we accepted it and stood in the shade most of the time. The Tour guide said we dont get many visiters in August, we wondered why the sites were quiet.
There were only 4 Tvrs attended. Ulrich in his Blue Cerbera, Nick in his red Griff, Martin and Julia in their red Chimaera. and me in my Griff, it least we had a mix of 1990s cars.
When Martin arrived we noticed he didn;t have a back number plate, He said ohno it must have fallen off on the way here. I think he needs better double sided tape next time.
We went and looked around the the cars at the top of the common The Lotus club had a good turnout from 1950s Elite to the latest Evora and Exige, then there were the Jaguar Owners club with old and new then Morris Minor club with loads from 1950s to 1970s,then the Triumph club with a few Tr6 Tr7 and Tr5s. we then went down to the bottom where we saw lots of motorcycles, from 1950s to modern Harlies and sportsbikes.
There were also a lot of army vehicles from old Land Rovers to Willys Jeeps to massive Lorries from ww2. The mix of cars was interesting E type Jags Lotus Cortinas, Rat Rods plus lots of 1960s Cars.
Hilton and Moss had a stand to promote their new Classic Car Restoration Centre based in Bishops Stortford. They still work on Tvrs as well as Lotus, Aston Martin, Mercedes etc
On their stand was a Lovely met Green Cerbera a 1950s Mercedes GullWing, Porsche Carrera Gt and a Aston Martin DB5.
As it was quite hot we decided to get our chairs and sit under the trees in the shade, it was good watching the new arrivals in all sorts of cars, from Ferraris to Morris Minors.
After a nice Burger ( thanks Ulrich ) and a drink we had a last look round then headed for home.
Thanks to those that turned up.
Maybe the weather will be milder next year.
